Etsy is a popular marketplace for selling handmade goods. When your Etsy store gains traction or if you have a lot of listings, having your own website may make financial sense. Luckily, it’s easy to download a list of all of your Etsy listings and then import them into your Shopify store.

Exporting Etsy Listings

The first step is to log into your Etsy store and click ‘Manage Store.’ Then you’ll navigate to ‘Settings,’ and click ‘Options.’ There will be a table on that page and one of the tabs says ‘Download Data.’ Click on that tab and then click the download button to get an exported list of your Etsy store listings.

Import Etsy Listings into Shopify

Once you have an export of your Etsy listings, you can import them as-is, or open them in Google Sheets or another editing program to fine tune the data before importing into Shopify. Shopify has a template you can use to map each field from Etsy to Shopify. A field is a data point that Etsy and Shopify use to determine where to put data. When mapping fields, it’s important that you understand the format of the data you are importing and how it’s named. Read more about fields in this Shopify help article. Luckily, Etsy fields map quite seamlessly into Shopify, even your product images. In your Shopify home page, click ‘Products’ and then choose ‘Import.’ Browse your computer for the Etsy file you downloaded, select and click ‘Continue.’ Your Etsy listings will take a few minutes to load, and you’ll get an email confirming the upload when it’s complete. Voila!
