How to Add the Tip Feature on Shopify

In order to give your customers the chance to support you and your business on your Shopify store, you have to manually add that option to your online store. When you’ve added, customers can add a tip with credit card payments on any order they have made, whether that is in-store or online.
Enabling Tips on Shopify
From your Shopify admin page, select Store and click Tips
Press Enable tips
Enter 3 percentage values for the preset tip options
Option: Disable custom tips
Option: Enable Manual tip amount
Minimum Tip Amounts
Minimum tip amounts take place over any preset tip percentages when a transaction is below a certain amount. For instance, if you have set a minimum tip amount to be $8, then you can replace your preset percentages (5%, 10%, 15%) to be $1, $2, or $3 for orders under $10 (or whatever your preference is).
To-Do This:
From your Shopify admin page, select Store and click Tips
Select Minimum tip amounts
Go to the Transaction limit and enter your minimum tip amount
Choose a dollar value for your 3 presets
Collecting Tips
If you have activated the tipping feature for your Shopify store, your customers will be presented with 3 top options: a preset tip percentage, a custom tip amount (if enabled), or no tip. Tips are only available for credit payments with a supportive reader. To check someone out with the option to tip, follow the steps below!
From the Shopify cart, press Charge
Select Credit on the select payment dialog
Click Start customer checkout and customers will be able to choose their top amount
If you need to refund a tip in your Shopify store, it’s easy and you won’t have to refund the entire order. It is os super easy and straightforward. Go to the order and select the order that has the tip that you would like to refund. Click on refund products and in the refund view select the + next to the tip. You can change the refund quantity to 1. If necessary, you can add a note to the reasoning of the fund. Finally, press Refund and you have the option to send an email or text confirmation to your customer.
Tip Reports
If you want to view all of the tips you have collected for each one of your employees or your total tips earned, you can do so by going running your Sales by Staff Report or the Finance Report in Shopify.
Tips Per Person
From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics
Choose Reports
Find the Sales section and press Show all
Edit columns and enable Tips to be shown

From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics
Find the Finances section
Select Show All
